When things are close, our eyes shift to accommodate the nearness. The closer you get to an object, the larger it appears. That is perspective. It's the powerful understanding that allows us to put things into their proper place. Perspective is also dangerous, because it provides a false sense of reality, it can magnify what should be minimized, and place greater importance on the lesser things.
If you chose to stay on your phone all day, read the news headlines, scroll through social media --you will successfully convince yourself that the world is ending any second, that
Corona virus has wiped out half the globe, and that you--yes you are probably next. That is perspective.
While there's some truth in all of the above, most of it is an over magnification of the present state.
Yes, we are in a global pandemic, and there are a lot of people dying. BUT there's a lot more people living, and this too shall pass. Vaccine treatments are being tested as we speak, alternative medicine for other illnesses are being utilized --and more and more people are recovering from COVID-19 than those who are not.
The purpose of this post isn't to dwell on what is temporary, but to challenge you regarding what is eternal -- What are you doing with this time?
If the belief is that God is allowing the world to stop even for a couple of months, so that fear can abound -- I challenge that rhetoric.
If you believe that the only thing that is coming out of COVID-19 is death, I ask where is your faith, where is your focus?
The spirit of God is providing the foundation for believers to begin to prepare. This preparation is for the new things of God. As a global church, we've preached on maturity and growth within the body of Christ, well now is that time.
God's task in this hour is to strengthen your faith, set your purpose and provide direction for the future. The ultimate question is are you listening?
Scripture says it is unwise for a man to not understand the season they're in, and we are in a season of supernatural shift.
Matthew 16:3 and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.
God is distributing:
Ideas for supernatural wealth and inheritance
Understanding of seasonal purpose, and his intentions for your life in the coming months
Wisdom on resolving long standing relational issues
Grace for new projects and entrepreneurship
Grace for kingdom marriages and relationships
Favor in new spheres of influence
Just to name a few things. This is the time to get before the Father and to get armed. Do not let this pause in life go by without accomplishing what is set forth for you in this season.
Remember that the ultimate prize is to hear "well done, my good and faithful servant" when we stand before the Father. Our desire should be to leave Earth emptied of everything that has been placed on the inside of us.
Practically, this looks like:
Discipline of Spirit --- Pray, pray, and pray some more. Meditate on the word of God, listen to sound teaching/doctrine, stay connected to other believers.
Discipline of Thought -- Read books to develop yourself and your crafts. Read things that enrich your perspective and add value to your person. Leave this season more valuable than you arrived.
Discipline of Body -- Eat healthy, workout, especially if you don't want to. You are the boss of your body.
Our call to action is to leave this season ready for whatever God has in store for us in the next.
with great love,
Obioma
